Google released Google Mobile Sync today for Windows Mobile, Iphone, Blackberry, and other mobile operating systems. It utilizes Exchange Server OTA (Over the Air) Active Sync in order to synchronize your Google Contacts and Google Calendar with your mobile device. Interestingly, no support (yet) for email synchronization via ActiveSync. For this, your best bet is still IMAP. It’s a great step forward for Google, and hopefully this means will see Exchange Server Sync on Android builds in the near future.
